Russia hopes that relations with Romania will change with the election of a new president

Russia hopes that relations with Romania will change, with the election of a new president. The spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexandr Lukasevic, stated that dialogue between the countries would entered into a certain deadlock because of criticism from Bucharest, amid conflict in eastern Ukraine.  He expressed his hope that the new president and the new composition of the Romanian government will promote a course that will ensure the further development of  the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas. „Let’s see how the new leadership will act”, said Alexandr Lukasevic, „and we start from here to draw conclusions. We are always open for a discussion and for a honest and sincere cooperation, especially with the countries which are closed to us”. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Romania supports the accession of Serbia to the European Union

Romania supports Serbia’s EU accession, said on Thursday, in Timisoara, the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Romanian Senate, Petru Filip, during the bilateral meeting of a delegation of the  National Assembly’s Serbia-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group  and Foreign Policy Committee of the Senate of Romania with a delegation of the Friendship parliamentary group with Romania of the Parliament of Serbia. The event took place in the context of the official opening of the negotiations for Serbia’s EU accession, on January 21st, 2014 and the approaches for assessing the integration process of the European countries in the Western Balkans. The discussions took into account the opportunities to support parliamentary the European course of Serbia, Romania delegation expressing its support for European Union enlargement process. More than 10.000 people visited Gaudeamus International Educational Book Fair in Bucharest

More than 10.000 people visited Gaudeamus International Educational Book Fair in the first day of the this event organized by Radio Romania. Among the events which will take place on Friday there are the launch of  „The Book of Whispers”, by Varujan Vosganian. The Children’s Book hall awaits the young ones at modeling workshops, drawing and art fun. Gaudeamus International Educational Book Fair runs until Sunday in the Central Pavilion of Romexpo in Bucharest. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
