President Klaus Iohannis made a brief analysis of his recent visits to Moldova and Germany – in a message posted on his Facebook wall. „Romania’s role is to be a benchmark of stability in the area and thought wise policy in the context of stress and danger on the eastern border of the European Union„, said Romanian President. The head of state considers that only from this meeting between East and West may occur solutions of peace and hope for prosperity – a topic of political reflection which he says that he will study thoroughly during his visit to Kiev. Minister Delegate for Relations with Romanians Abroad, Angel Talvar, on an official visit to southern Italy

Minister Delegate for Relations with Romanians Abroad, Angel Talvar, is on an official visit to southern Italy to assess  the situation of Romanians in the area. He had talks in the province of Ragusa with the representatives of the ethnic Romanians and the local authorities about the problems of many of the 42,000 residents in Sicily. „We decided together to encourage Romanian associative environment and to encourage Romanian language media„, said Romanian Minister. He also stated that „both parties’ desire was that the integration of Romanians to be done in the best possible manner and as accurate as possible, taking into account the specificity that we have in terms of our department, namely encouraging the preservation of national identity of all Romanians living here

Teachers’ salaries increased by 10 %

Starting today, teachers’ salaries increased by 10 %. The announcement was made last night on a TV station by Prime Minister Victor Ponta. Increasing teachers’ salaries was stipulated in the agreement signed by the government with education trade union last year, on October 27. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
