President Klaus Iohannis met with the leader of the European People’s Party, Joseph Daul, in Riga

President Klaus Iohannis met yesterday with the leader of the European People’s Party, Joseph Daul, in Latvia’s capital, Riga. He said that it was a friendly discussion focused on several themes. „We talked a lot about the Republic of Moldova”, said mister Iohannis, „we talked, obviously, about Romania’s Schengen file, we discussed the European Union neighborhood policy and some topics related to the evolution of EPP”. The talks took place during a meeting of  the leaders of European People’s Party, which preceded the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Romanian Naval Forces organizes the first multinational exercise „Romanian Trident Poseidon 2015”

Starting today until May 28,  Romanian Naval Forces organizes for the first time the first multinational exercise „Romanian Trident Poseidon 2015”, which will be held under the aegis of NATO in Romania’s territorial waters and in the international waters of the Black Sea. The application brings together sailors and ships from Romania, Bulgaria and the United States. Troops of the Land Forces General Staff, Air Forces General Staff, the Coast Guard, the Oil Services Group and the Medical Directorate will also participate at the first multinational exercise „Romanian Trident Poseidon 2015”. Prime Minister Victor Ponta’s visit to Chisinau

While The Eastern Partnership summit began in Riga, Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta chose to go to Chisinau, where he insisted that Romania was and will remain an unconditional supporter of the Republic of Moldova’s european path. Prime Minister Ponta insisted that our country will propose in the immediate future the launching of large economic projects in strategic areas for the Republic of Moldova, which Bucharest supports, being identified the funding sources and investment. „Romania has been and will remain an unconditional supporter of Moldova’s european path”, said Victor Ponta.
