Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu starts an official visit to Israel state and Palestine. In Israel he will have talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and with other officials, including the Knesset Speaker and members of the Security Cabinet. The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, including investment, energy, tourism and agriculture. A particular attention will be given to combating anti-semitism. Bogdan Aurescu will also meet with Yad Vashem Memorial Museum researchers and with members of Israelis born in Romania community. In Palestine, the Romanian chief diplomat will be received by President Mahmoud Abbas, according to a Foreign Ministry statement. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Romanian Foreign Ministry warns citizens in transit or traveling in Slovenia that they may face delays at road and rail border crossings. As the flow of immigrants to Western Europe now passes through this country, Slovenian policemen do checks on motorways and roads. Romanian citizens and carriers are advised to bone up upon the travel conditions and road traffic in Slovenia and to comply with police instructions. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

In the coming years, Romania will have 3 or 4 air bases for helicopters involved in mountain rescue missions, said the Head of the Department of Emergency Situations at Ministry of Internal Affairs, Raed Arafat. According to him, there are already two crews acting on Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) helicopter – doctor and nurse, who were trained by Swiss experts to descend on the winch and the courses are to be completed early next year. The largest international passenger carrier in Romania announced that it would provide funding for SMURD Foundation, through „We Respect Life” campaign, with 100,000 euros. The company will donate until September 30th, 2016, a leu of each ticket sold without changing tariffs. Doctor Raed Arafat said that the money will be used for prevention and that it is about one of the most important companies in Romania which joins SMURD. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
