On a visit to Romania, the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, lit a candle and laid a bouquet of flowers last night in front „Colectiv” club where the fire took place, on Friday. Similar gestures in memory of the victims of the tragedy which happened three days ago were made by the ambassadors in Bucharest of the United States, France, Britain, Turkey, while the presidents of Moldova, Hungary, Armenia, Estonia, Bulgaria,Turkey and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker sent messages of condolence and solidarity. It is 87 years since the first radio broadcast in Romania

This year marks 87 years since the first radio broadcast in Romania. The first words were uttered in ether by the then president of the institution, physicist Dragomir Hurmuzescu. Radio Romania has become the most important media institution in the country, by the number of listeners who choose daily the corporate posts, by the campaigns in which it engages and by major cultural projects which it develops. In an interview with Rador News Agency, President Director General of Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, Ovidiu Miculescu, appreciates that Radio Romania represented permanently a reference point in the modern history of Romania and it currently seeks two major directions for adaptation to digital and online technology. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania informs Romanian citizens who transit, are or travel in Greece that Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation organizes a strike today. All categories of maritime carriers will be will affected and during the strike the ships will remain anchored in ports. The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania recalls „Travel Safe” application, which provides information, travel advice and the possibility that Romanians can be alerted if any special circumstances arise.
