Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos will pay an official visit to Paris on Wednesday, at the invitation of French Republic President Francois Hollande. According to a government statement, the main topics of talks with French officials will focus, inter alia, on privileged historical relations between the two countries and important topics on the European and international agenda, such as terrorism, migration and the European Union’s security policy. Trade between Romania and Italy exceeded 12 billion euros in 2015. Ambassador Diego Brasioli said that in 2015 only other 2,000 Italian companies have chosen Romanian market. The diplomat added that Romania’s presence at Expo Milano helped to strengthen the bilateral relations. The exhibition which had the theme „Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” attracted nearly 21 million visitors in a very difficult moment for the international relations, says the Ambassador who considers the event a success. The theme chosen by Romania’s Pavilion at the exhibition in Milan -„In harmony with nature” – was one of the most suited – adds Diego Brasioli. „Romania has much to offer. It is a country where harmony with nature, hence the biological food culture, healthy and nature protection through numerous parks are essential. This is a fundamental commitment for Italy and I am glad that even at the level of economic and trade relations between Romania and Italy, which are very intense, the attention for biological agriculture and the agro-industrial sector is growing”, said Ambassador Diego Brasioli. Consultations next week between agencies for child protection in Romania and Norway on the case of Bodnariu family

The case of Bodnariu family will be the subject of next week consultations between agencies for child protection in Romania and Norway. The announcement was made by Minister of Labour, Family, Social Protection and the Elderly, Ana Costea. She also said that the social services will make an assessment and police will investigate. In November, Norwegian authorities took over the five children of the Romanian-Norwegian Bodnariu family on religious grounds and juvenile correction applied to minors. Several discussions took place in the last two months between the leadership of the Romanian Foreign Ministry and the Norwegian Ambassador in Bucharest. Romanian Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu said that in Bodnariu case current regulations must be taken into account and he appealed for discretion given the „sensitivity” of this case.
