Romania’s Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos was welcomed on Wednesday by his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte in The Hague. The two officials discussed about removing the monitoring mechanism and cooperation in justice and, in this context, Romania’s accession to the Schengen Area. Later, Dacian Ciolos had meetings with the presidents of both houses of the Dutch parliament, but also with members of the committees for European Affairs. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem

On Wednesday, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem, the holiest place for Jewish people and, according to tradition, he left a note on the wall on which he wrote a wish. The Head of State met with representatives of the Israeli community of Romanian origin. |During the meeting, he told them that they they represent the most valuable bridge between Romania and Israel. Klaus Iohannis stressed that all officials with whom he met during his visit told him that they greatly appreciate the Israeli citizens who came from Romania. On Thursday, Romanian President will travel to Palestine where he will meet with President Mahmoud Abbas, with whom he will have direct talks and will hold a joint press conference. British Ambassador to Bucharest participated in the debate on „Open Government Partnership in Romania”
