NATO Day was marked in Bucharest

NATO Day was marked yesterday in Bucharest, where a military ceremony took place and Ministry of Defence opened its doors. The visitors were able to see a handling weapons exercise, executed by soldiers from 30th Guard Brigade „Michael the Brave”. An  outdoor exhibition of military equipment and other thematics was also opened. NATO Day in Romania is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of April. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Events dedicated to Romanian Gendarmerie Day

Romanian Interior Minister Petre Toba congratulated the gendarmes on the occasion of the Romanian Gendarmerie Day, which this year marks 166 years since the creation of the service. In a message addressed with this occasion he recalled the challenges of this period, both domestically – where two electoral processes are to be managed – and externally – related to migration, radicalization trends and increased terrorist risk. Rigor and military organization are the strengths of this institution in which Romanians trust, says in his message Minister Petre Toba, who is convinced that Romanian Gendarmerie remains a landmark of seriousness and efficiency in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Romania remains committed to contribute to strengthening NATO’s eastern flank

Romania remains committed to contribute to strengthening NATO’s eastern flank, said President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos. On the occasion of NATO Day in our country, which was marked yesterday, they said that our country is an appreciated ally which actively participates in strengthening the organization. In turn, the  Minister of Defence Mihnea Motoc recalled that in the 12 years since its accession to NATO, Romania has proven to be reliable. „Romania”, said Mihnea Motoc, „is specifically identified as a solid ally. NATO knows that Romania is an ally which always respects its word. We greatly contribute to virtually all operations, missions undertaken by NATO in theaters, we greatly contribute to information exchange in alliance and this starting from our accession to NATO and today I am proud, as Romanian, that our citizens are still supporters of these international organizations, which are essential for the world to which we belong. People suffering from Parkinson’s disease in an advanced stage can benefit from a new treatment

People suffering from Parkinson’s disease in an advanced stage can benefit from a new treatment through a national program dedicated to people diagnosed with this disease. The new therapy has no side effects, provides a better control over the  symptoms of the disease and helps improve quality of life, according to President of the Romanian Society of Neurology, doctor Dafin Mureseanu. Worldwide ten out of a hundred people are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease annually, mostly people over 55 years. In Romania, over 70,000 patients with this condition receive treatment, the monthly cost amounting to about 3,000 lei. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
