Consultations at Cotroceni Palace on citizens’ safety and their rights and freedoms

The balance between the security of citizens and their rights and freedoms is the most important goal to be achieved when it comes to amending laws on national security, wrote on Facebook Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. Yesterday, he had a first round of consultations on this issue with representatives of the PSD, PNL and UDMR. All three political parties have agreed that it is necessary to improve the laws targeting the safety of citizens and expressed their willingness to engage in this process. The consultations will continue today with UNPR, ALDE and National Minorities delegations. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

For the first time in Romania, a group of high school students from Targoviste managed to contact the International Space Station

For the first time in Romania, a group of high school students from Targoviste managed to contact the International Space Station (ISS). On this occasion the pupils discussed with astronaut Jeffrey Williams. The connection was possible with the help of an international organization which facilitates such contacts, for educational purpose. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Romanian department for Romanians abroad  began discussions on the establishment of information centers

Romanian department for Romanians abroad  began discussions on the establishment of information centers in countries in the immediate vicinity of Romania. By the end of the year, our country will have information centers in Ukraine, Republic of Moldova, Albania and Serbia, said at the Radio Romania News Minister – Delegate for Relations with Romanians Abroad, Dan Stoenescu. These centers will be set up in collaboration with universities and high schools in neighboring countries and they will promote projects regarding education in Romanian and cultural activities for Romanian citizens in the respective countries.

Elvira Popescu Hall in Bucharest is hosting the fifth edition of the Cinepolitica International Film Festival. According to a communiqué of the organizers, Culture and Image Association, for the first time new movies will be screened for the Romanian public until Sunday, with political subjects focused on hot topics of the moment, such as terrorism. In Bucharest also starts today the 25th edition of DaKINO International Film Festival.  It can also be seen for the first time the film”Room”, with three Oscar nominations this year.
