President Klaus Iohannis will represent Romania at the European summit in Brussels

At the European Council to be held today and tomorrow in Brussels and during which the results of the last week referendum in United Kingdom will be discussed „Romania will strongly defend maintaining equal rights for all European Union citizens, including the rights of Romanians living and working in the United Kingdom”. President Klaus Iohannis, who will represent Romania at the European summit, will insist that after the British decided their country’s exit from EU nationalist, extremist and anti-European currents need to be counteracted to avoid the recurrence of such a process in other European Union member states, Presidential Administration informed. European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu met in Brussels with the Minister of National Education Adrian Curaj. The two discussed about the research in Romania, especially about Laser project in Magurele and about how this project could help develop the local and regional economy. Corina Cretu congratulated Minister Adrian Curaj for „Laser Valley – Land of Lights” initiative, appreciating the positive aspect of this strategy of sustainable urban development that is developing around the laser project in Magurele. A Romanian delegation led by President Mihai Robert Dima pays a working visit to Israel

In Tel Aviv was signed the Plan for the Implementation of Bilateral Agreement on Cooperation in Technological and Industrial Research between Israeli institution MATIMOP and the National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation in Romania through which the bilateral cooperation in applied research and innovation is launched. Romanian delegation led by President Mihai Robert Dima pays a working visit to Israel during which it has scheduled meetings at Israel Science Foundation, Center for Technological Entrepreneurship in Tel Aviv municipality and Coastal and Marine Engineering Research Institute in Haifa.
Romanian delegation will also visit High-Tech Village in Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Technion University in Haifa. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
