The Supreme Council of National Defence will convene under President Klaus Johannis

The Supreme Council of National Defence (CSAT) will convene today, at Cotroceni Palace, under President Klaus Johannis. The agenda includes topics such as the implementation of decisions taken at the NATO Summit in Warsaw, developments in the Middle East, operatores’ situation in the defense industry and assessing the level of cyber security of public institutions in Romania. CSAT members will also discuss about the situation of the health system. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Romania will resume exports of live pigs and products derived from them in EU countries

Romania will resume exports of live pigs and products derived from them in European Union countries, following the decision taken in Brussels last week. The announcement was made by  the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority. Restrictions were imposed on Romania in the period of pre-accession, due to classical swine fever. To eradicate this disease, Romania launched extensive combat and control programs. The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority is due to present the conditions on easing comunity trade in swine. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Historian Neagu Djuvara and philosopher Mihai Sorea were awarded the National Order of the Star of Romania in the rank of Knight

Historian Neagu Djuvara and philosopher Mihai Sorea, who both turned 100, were awarded the National Order of the Star of Romania in the rank of Knight in a ceremony which took place at the Cotroceni Palace. President Klaus Iohannis celebrated their contributions in the fields of history and philosophy. Klaus Iohannis: „Through generations of specialists who had the opportunity to know your work, your work remains always young. The future will remember that Romania’s modern and democratic values were supported also on your work, with which you have enriched our century of our great Unification”. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
