Romania will be very involved in negotiating the status of immigrants in the United Kingdom, says President Klaus Iohannis

President Klaus Iohannis said that Romania will be very involved in negotiating the status of immigrants in the United Kingdom, during the talks regarding UK exit from the European Union. President Iohannis talked about Brexit with the British Prime Minister Theresa May during the European summit in Brussels and he asserts that he found the common wish for negotiations to take place in correct terms. Theresa May, at her first European summit as Prime Minister, told European leaders that her country will remain a reliable partner after leaving the Union, but French president and German chancellor warned that the negotiations will be difficult. President Klaus Iohannis told British Prime Minister Theresa May that the fate of the Romanians in the UK is an extremely important issue for Romania and it will be negotiated with great self-confidence. „We do not want that Romanians in the United Kingdom to be subjected to unnecessary pressure”, said Klaus Iohannis. „I found great understanding, Theresa May assured me that she would engage personally so that there will be no such incidents either until Brexit, either after Brexit”.
