Vaslui county faces the highest rate of unemployment in the country

None of the 900 participants in the job market for graduates, organized in Vaslui, was not hired – though this county faces the highest rate of unemployment in the country. Economic agents which offered the 250 jobs were reticent after the first discussions with future employees during the event because, said the agents, they lack motivation. Around 20% of them got another chance after being called for an interview or a practical test. More than 500 of the total number of graduates participating in this scholarship were 2016 promotion. Mandatory military service will not be reintroduced in Romania

Mandatory military service will not be reintroduced in Romania, even if in some allied countries there is a tendency to take into account such a measure, says Defense Minister Mihnea Motoc. He explained in an interview that ten years after the removal of this obligation, the Romanian Army needs an alternative to military service. In this context, Mihnea Motoc announced that starting January 1st next year will come into effect the law regarding Volunteer Reservist. It stipulates that people who have performed military service can enter, upon request, in a concentrated form of training and those who have no military knowledge to participate, also volunteer, at training courses. Ministry of Defence estimates that through
this law the Romanian Army will have 2,700 reservists in 2017. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Romanian Armed Forces Day will be marked in several places in the country and abroad

On Tuesday, October 25th, we celebrate Romanian Armed Forces Day which honors the supreme sacrifice of Romanian soldiers who fought for the country’s reunification. According to a press release of Defense Ministry, President Klaus Iohannis and Defense Minister Mihnea Motoc will participate at the theater in Satu Mare at the public debate on „Army – fundamental institution of the state, source of confidence and national pride”. Ceremonies scheduled on Tuesday are centered in Carei, in front of Romanian Soldier Monument, work of the artist Geza Vida, but events will take place in several places in the country and abroad, including in cemeteries where Romanian soldiers are buried. In the capital, wreath laying ceremonies will be held at the Monument to the Heroes of the Country in front of National Defense University „Carol I” and at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Carol Park. On the occasion of Romanian Armed Forces Day wreaths will be laid at cemeteries and monuments dedicated to Romanian heroes in Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. At Rossoshka, Volgograd Region of the Russian Federation, will take place a reburial ceremony for Romanian soldiers who died in the battles of Stalingrad. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
