Romanian President addressed a congratulation letter to the elected President of the United States of America

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said yesterday that after the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States of America the partnership between the two countries could strengthen on the economic component. He recalled that he addressed a congratulation letter to the elected President. Klaus Iohannis: „We are willing to work together to strengthen the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States. If there will be changes? Changes might take place in that this partnership strengthens with three components: political, security and economic and I have long said that if the first two work extraordinarily well we need to have more economic cooperation and perhaps here we have an opportunity”. European Union leaders said the future American president should be respected and they invited Donald Trump as quickly as possible in Europe at a European Union – America summit. European Council President Donald Tusk called for transatlantic unity, but he acknowledged that efforts are needed from both sides. „Europe and the United States have no other option but to cooperate as closely as possible”, said Donald Tusk. Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos meets today in Timisoara with his Serbian counterpart Alexandar Vucic. He will be accompanied by Minister of Interior, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Labour, Minister of Economy and with the Minister delegate for Relations with Romanians Abroad who will also participate in talks with the Serbian official. Several agreements will be signed including one on the prevention and elimination of disasters. The document will contain, among others, provisions on ways to provide assistance, coordination of relief operations, or those related to the temporary evacuation of people in danger, said government spokesman, Liviu Iolu. Also in Timisoara, Romanian Prime Minister will meet with businessmen. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Romania and Bulgaria shall assist each other on medicines

Romania and Bulgaria shall assist each other so as patients in both states can quickly get drugs missing in a country, but they are found in the other one. The government in Bucharest has announced that it will sign a cooperation agreement in this regard with the neighboring country. In addition, according to this future agreement, the two countries will jointly negotiate with drug manufacturers to obtain price cuts. Romania and Bulgaria have launched this project in the summer at a working meeting of Ministers of Health of Central and Eastern Europe. Subsequently other governments in the European space may join this voluntary cooperation agreement. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
