The Triumphal Arch in Bucharest will be inaugurated this afternoon

The Triumphal Arch in Bucharest will be inaugurated this afternoon after the completion of consolidation and restoration works. Started in 2014, the works were to be completed last summer, but due to some technical problems the municipality lost some irredeemable European funds. Of the 7.7 million euros – the investment’s price – only 5 million euros were discounted. At the beginning of the works, municipality estimated that the monument will attract more than 25,000 visitors in the first year after its opening. The National Day parade returns this year at the Triumphal Arch, after in the last two years the event took place at Constitution Square, so that starting on Wednesday more traffic restrictions will be in the area.
