Romania’s economy will continue to grow in 2017, but less than last year, amid fears about domestic consumption and external risks, are data from a survey conducted by the Fin Keys among a representative sample of businessmen from all sectors of activity. Asked which are the main challenges of this year most managers indicated a moderation of consumption growth, other answers referring to uncertainties regarding global economic developments, possible tax measures and a potential rise in inflation. Chairman of the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee, Claude Moraes, advocates for a strong and an independent judicial system, correct for all European citizens, which is one of the pillars of the European project. The British MEP, member of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats group, states on his Facebook page that he follows with great interest the events in Romania and considers that the alleged involvement of the intelligence services and the political actors in the work of justice can only undermine its credibility. Claude Moraes stressed that the fight against corruption must not have political partisanship and the direction it goes should not be determined by different interests. Corruption must be fought at every level based on democratic and fair processes, respecting the rights of those under investigation, also said the Chairman of the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee. Interventions of the Department of Emergency Situations continue

Over 1,200 people were rescued last night from snows and more than 400 cars were unblocked, said the head of the Department of Emergency Situations, secretary of state with the Home Affairs, Raed Arafat. He pointed out that the situation in Constanta remains most critical. Raed Arafat: „There have been several interventions during the night, the interventions continues today. Until around 6:00 in the morning, there were 97 interventions for snow removal to unblock 409 cars and to rescue 1,200 people, most of which were in Constanta county. We appeal to the population including Bucharest population to use emergency phone number 112 only in cases of true emergency, to tell the truth on the phone and not to exaggerate the situation”.
