Europe Day was marked in Cismigiu Park

In our country, Europe Day was marked yesterday in Cismigiu Park in Bucharest. At the 4th edition of the European Union (EU) „Member States Square” Bucharest residents and tourists had the occasion to get closer to the European member states’ specific traditions, art, music, dance and gastronomy. Stands of EU countries offered to the passers-by  traditional products or tourist offers, presented habits and traditions. The United Kingdom could not miss the celebration of the European Union, even though its citizens voted in last year’s referendum to leave the EU. „We are happy to have here in Cismigiu Park, in Bucharest, a piece from Great Britain”, said Paul Brummell, British Ambassador to Romania. „Romania is a friend of Great Britain, it will remain a friend of Great Britain”. Romania was also represented in Cismigiu Park. Traditional craftsmen brought to life lesser known habits through pottery or blacksmith demonstrations and workshops were a lesson of living history.
