Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu has met with the Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Republic of Iraq

Prime Minister Sorin Grindean had talks, at Victoria Palace, with Saalem Abdullah Al –Jubouri, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Republic of Iraq on the possibilities to diversify the Romania –Iraq cooperation and in perspective Romania’s participation in the economic reconstruction of this country. Sorin Grindeanu pointed out that Romania is interested in the bilateral cooperation development, including at economic level, taking into account that the bilateral trade exchanges have not attained their full potential yet. The Iraqi official has expressed the interest in the development of the bilateral economic cooperation and specified that there are safe areas in Iraq, where the Romanian companies can find business opportunities. He referred to the field of transport, education, healthcare and oil industry. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

The rights of Romanians settled in the United Kingdom will be respected after Britain will leave the European Union, says President Klaus Iohannis

The first issue of the negotiations between European Union and United Kingdom in Brexit refers to citizens’ rights and President Klaus Iohannis assured that he will be involved in this process to be sure that the rights of Romanians who have settled in the UK will be respected after this country will leave the Union. „Romanians who have settled in the UK or who have chosen to reside in the UK are certainly in the middle”, said President Klaus Iohannis. „They are somehow the victims of these discussions and they are not the only ones. I feel obliged to engage very strongly in these discussions to ensure that the rights of Romanians in United kingdom are respected”. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu launched a campaign to promote successful European projects

European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu launched in Bucharest a campaign to promote successful European projects in
the second edition of the „Caravan of Structural Funds”. She said that thanks to them about 50,000 jobs have been created over the past 10 years, adding that the construction and repair works of many schools and roads has been funded. However, Corina Cretu warned that it is about funds from the previous financial year, because from the current one, 2007-2014, Romania failed to spend any money. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
