The army will employ 50 psychologists this year and will establish a national center for operational psychology, said Defense Minister Mihai Fifor at the meeting with the Romanian Army Psychologists Corps, at the National Military Circle. Mihai Fifor also announced that he will sign a protocol with the universities in the country for the development of postgraduate programs in the field. Romania did not face a concrete and consistent terrorist threat in 2017 – reveals the report of the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT). Islamic radicalization is now one of the major risks in our country, as in the rest of Europe. Although it does not have the size of a phenomenon, it has increased in recent years mainly among residents from areas with active terrorist issue, as well as of the Romanian citizens converted to Islam, according to DIICOT report. A significant share in the organized crime groups is held by those specialized in human trafficking and trafficking minors, in particular for the purpose of sexual exploitation, less often through forced labor with countries of destination in Western Europe.
