President Klaus Iohannis will welcome at the Cotroceni Palace his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić

President Klaus Iohannis will welcome on Thursday at the Cotroceni Palace his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić on an official visit to Bucharest at the invitation of the Romanian head of state. President Klaus Iohannis will discuss with his Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić about ways to deepen bilateral cooperation. Ways for Romania’s supporting Serbia’s EU bid will also be discussed, including from the perspective of Romania’s term at the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2019. During today’s talks at the Cotroceni Palace the two Presidents will also tackle the issue of national minorities in the two countries, subjects of common interest regarding cooperation in the Western Balkans and the main developments in the Kosovo case. Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu is on an official visit to Croatia

Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu is on a two-day official visit to Croatia, where he will inaugurate the Romanian Honorary Consulate in Split and will have official talks with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, with the Prime Minister, with the President of Parliament, with the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, as well as with the President of Croatian Chamber of Economy. The program includes a visit to the Romanian Orthodox Church in Zagreb made available to the Romanian community by the Catholic Church in Croatia. Romanian Foreign Minister will also have a meeting with members of the leadership of the Association of Romanians in Croatia. On the occasion of the visit, a Cooperation Protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia will be signed. Economy Specialist Jeffrey Sachs is in Bucharest

One of the world’s leading experts on economic development and the fight against poverty, American professor Jeffrey Sachs is today in Bucharest, where he will speak at the „Sustainable Development and Economic Growth” conference, organized by the government. He will also have talks with Minister of Finance Eugen Teodorovici and with the coordinator of the Department for Sustainable Development, László Borbély. In the afternoon, the American professor will have a meeting with students from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and tomorrow he will pay a visit to the town of Cluj-Napoca.
