Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte pays a working visit in Bucharest

Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte working visit in Bucharest takes place in the context of our country taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in the first semester of next year. The visit is also the first of this high official in Bucharest. Discussions with Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila will explore the possibilities of deepening bilateral relations and the concrete ways in which Romania and the Kingdom of Netherlands can collaborate in the direction of promoting the future objectives of Romania’s Presidency of the European Union Council. Boosting bilateral economic relations will be another objective of this visit, in the context in which the Kingdom of the Netherlands represents the largest investor in Romania and the emerging Romanian community in this country brings active and significant contributions to the Kingdom’s economy and society. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis will welcome Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Wednesday. They will discuss about bilateral relations as well as main topics on the European and international agenda, such as the consolidation of the European Union, negotiations on the future Multiannual Financial Framework of the Union for 2021-2027, migration and UK’s withdrawal from the European Union. The Ambassador of Romania to the United States, expected to give a series of explanations about his diplomatic work

The Ambassador of Romania to the United States George Maior is expected on Wednesday at the Senate Foreign Policy Committee to explain his activity as the head of the Romanian diplomatic mission in Washington. According to Senate President Calin Popescu-Tariceanu, Romania’s Ambassador would provide clarifications, among other things, about his public statements on the letter sent to the authorities in Bucharest by Rudolph Giuliani, Donald Trump’s lawyer and former federal American prosecutor. Travel alert for Greece

Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns Romanian citizens who are, transit or want to travel to Greece that high fire risk – level 4 of 5 – is maintained for the islands of Chios, Samos, Ikaria, Rhodes, Kos and Kalymnos. Romanian citizens can request consular assistance at the telephone numbers of the Romanian Embassy in Athens and at the Romanian General Consulate in Thessaloniki and they also have at their disposal „Travel safely” smartphone application.
