Romania is supported by France in its bid to enter the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development

The Romanian Finance Minister announced on Monday that France had given its support for Romania’s accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Eugen Teodorovici thanked his French counterpart for the letter he sent to the Secretary General of OECD and underlined that the gesture was a proof that European partners appreciate the activity of the Romanian government, during its presidency of The European Union Council and recognize Romania as an equal partner inside the European community. The Finance Minister says that an eventual accession to the OECD implies many benefits, like a growing trust in Romania’s economy, an access to economic tools and decision centers of the organization and the possibility to contribute to the global economic governance.

Two Dutch citizens have been arrested in the Romanian county of Maramures, after carrying 84 kilograms of heroin

Two Dutch citizens have been caught by police in the Romanian county of Maramures, while transporting 84 kilograms of heroin. They have been detained by the DIICOT prosecutors, accused of bringing high risk drugs into the country and will be brought in court with the recommendation of preemptive arrest. They came from Hungary, with a car registered into Germany. The border police noticed that the vehicle had a special arranged space, where 167 heroin packaged were hidden. The suspects are a 29 year old woman and a 44 year old man, accordig to a police statement.

Individual tickets for concerts at the „George Enescu” International Festival will be put on sale on Wednesday, March 6th

Tickets for concerts from this year’s edition of „George Enescu” International Festival are going on sale starting on Wednesday, March 6th. People who are interested in the festival will be able to buy tickets both online and in dedicated shops. Throughout the festival, music lovers will be offered 84 concerts, with 2,500 international artists, more than 50 highly appreciated vocalists, lyrical artists, violinists and pianists. The festival will feature more than 170 hours of high quality music, a diverse repertoire, from well known performances to close recitals and even first auditions. The „Enescu” festival will reach cities and towns like Sibiu, Cluj, Timisoara, Iasi, Bacau, Targu Mures and Targoviste and will unfold from the 31st of August to the 22nd of September.
