The Annual Inflation Rate Has Lowered to 3,4% in October 2019

The annual inflation rate has lowered slightly, to 3,4%, in October, from 3,5% in September. Alimentary products have become more expensive by 4,16%, the non-alimentary ones by 2,75% and services are 4,14% more expensive, according to data published on Tuesday by The National Statistics Institute. The National Bank has lowered from 4,2% to 3,8% the inflation prediction for the end of this year and estimates an inflation of 3,1% for next year.

PNL and PSD Leaders Meet to Analyze Results in The Presidential Elections and Set a Strategy for The Second Round

Leaders of PNL and PSD parties meet today to analyze the presidential election results and set a strategy for the second round, which is to take place on November 24th. The PSD president, Viorica Dăncilă, said yesterday that branch leaders wouldn’t be sanctioned for obtaining lower than expected results, but that they will have to evaluate their activity. Ludovic Orban, president of PNL, said that what they achieved in the presidential election is close to their expectations. Yesterdays, the liberals received the first support engagement, from USR-PLUS alliance.

Liviu Dragnea Brought to the High Court of Cassation and Justice Where Judges Were Supposed to Discuss His Contestation

Former PSD leader, Liviu Dragnea, was taken this morning from Rahova penitentiary and taken to the High Court of Cassation and Justice where judges were to discuss his contestation. He contests, by a special way of attack, the definitive sentence to 3 years and 6 months of jail for instigation to abuse of power, in the Fictitious Hiring file. Liviu Dragnea was brought handcuffed in the court and he asked for a delay, to hire a lawyer. Judges have delayed the trial for the 10th of December. Similar requests have been made by other two defendants in the files. He has been jailed for six months.
