Government measures in support of Romania’s economy

Romanian cabinet’s measures announced late on Tuesday may involve a technological unemployment for many employees if not a genuine layout. Such employyes will join workers who already lost their jobs followint the COVIC-19 pandemic. Some of the areas affected include tourism, passenger transport or even auto industry as it was revealed recently. Car factories are closing all over Europe and Ford car producer in the sourthern %Romanian town of Craiova already announced it was sending their workers in technological unemployment. The financial impact of the measures is expected to hit 2 percent of the GDP in the next three months, as Finance Minister Florin Citu put it in a statatement on Tuesday night.

Go-ahead for a brand new Mogoșoaia passage

Romania’s Transport Ministry has issued on Wednesday a building permit for a passage at Mogoșoaia, one of the busiest crossroads in the capital Bucharest. The approval means the constructor can start work as part of a two-year contract. Also on Bucharest’s northern belt is expected to resume work aimed at updating a 11 km route linking the southern Sun Motorway to the country’s DN2. The project also includes a passage near the Cernica Monastery, south of Bucharest. The purpose of the project is to address traffic congestion.

Simona Halep donates funds to hospitals in Romania

Wimbledon, Roland Garros and world’s  number two tennis champion Simona Halep said she would donate funds to pay for medical equipment in Romania as her country was facing the coronavirus pandemic. “I am committed to helping my country and have decided to donate medical equipment.”, Ms Halep tweeted on Tuesday. Money are expected to go to hospitals in the capital Bucharest and her native Black Sea port of Constantza..Simona Halep also raised an amount of money for the bushfire relief efforts in Australia. “Happy to announce that I have donated a total of $20,000 to the bushfire fund”, Halep said  on a webpage.
