Reopening restaurants and beaches depends on citizens’ behavior, health minister says

Health Minister Nelu Tătaru said last night, in an interview, that in the context of a descending number of new cases of coronavirus and deaths, the effects of the three days of relaxation following the end of the state of emergency will be visible starting this Thursday.

Nelu Tătaru: We will see if this exaggerated joy or exaggerated sensation of freedom will have effects. Think about it, a mass of people, each of them coming from their family, their environment in which they had a disease or not, can transmit it to the people they meet there and those ones will go back to their families. We will see the appearance of mini-outbreaks.

The Romanian Health Minister also spoke of the situation at the border

Nelu Tătaru: O lack of distancing, a relatively large group of people crowding to enter the country created the conditions of a possible transmission. Let’s not forget that these country fellows of ours were coming from former red zones.

The Health Minister warned again that the reopening of gardens on the 1st of June or of the beaches and restaurants at the middle of next month depends on the behavior people have during this period. This will be a trial summer – the Health Minister said in a televised interview for Digi 24.
