The number of coronavirus cases in Romania has risen by 246 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 24,291. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 1.523 deaths related to COVID-19 in Romania. The emergency situation has ended at the 15th of May and is was replaced by a state of alert, which is due to end on the 17th of July. Romanian people have to wear masks in the public transport and indoor public places.

The Foreign Minister in Bucharest has said that for the moment there are no available data concerning the identity and nationality of infected people, because the authorities have prioritized the checking and testing of all those who live in the complex, which has been placed into quarantine for seven days. a system to deliver food and necessities to people in the quarantined zone has been put in place.

Red code for flooding in seven Romanian counties

The weather remains unstable in Romania, in the following days and more than half of the county is under an orange code for storms which is in place until Tuesday at 10 am. Hydrologists have issued a red code alert for flooding on rivers in seven counties, in place until Wednesday.
