The annual multinational military exercise „Blonde Avalanche 2020” ended yesterday in Brăila, in which training activities were carried out to help the population in case of natural disasters. 200 soldiers participated, being also present a delegation from the American state of Alabama, as well as the attachés of the countries that are part of the Multisational Tisza Battalion initiative. It is worth noting that this year the planning of the exercise was done online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Another 1.380 new cases of COVID-19 were announced in Romania on Thursday, out of over 25.000 tests

Another 1.380 new cases of COVID-19 were announced yesterday in Romania, out of over 25.000 tests. Most new diseases were registered in Bucharest – 201, followed by Bacău – 82 and Timiș – 69. 47 deaths were also announced, and 459 patients are now hospitalized in Intensive Care units. Since the beginning of the epidemic, almost 100.000 cases have been confirmed in our country, and 4.065 people have died. Meanwhile, the government announced that it will adopt on Monday the decision on extending the alert status on the Romanian territory. Authorities are continuing preparations for the safe reopening of schools. Yesterday, the Government approved the supplementation of the budget of the Ministry of Education with 100 million lei from the budgetary reserve fund, for the financing of the National Program „Safety Education”. The executive also adopted yesterday a memorandum providing for the connection of 3.150 schools to the Internet, as well as a decision to fill 500 positions in the pre-university education system, both for teaching and non-teaching staff. The local authorities have the task of hiring medical staff in the school offices, and the salaries will be provided from the budget of the Ministry of Health, according to the Health minister, Nelu Tătaru./opopescu
