Family doctors criticize the emergency ordinance providing home treatment for asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 patients

The National Society of Family Medicine criticizes the recent emergency ordinance which stipulates that patients with asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 will be treated at home by family doctors, without an initial evaluation through laboratory or imaging investigations. Family physicians say they are burdened with new bureaucratic responsibilities and penalties when the system no longer copes, and denounce the issuance of normative acts regarding the medical system without consulting practitioners or patient representatives. Family doctors say they will continue to be by their patients, but say they need additional resources, and especially respect. According to a statement, family doctors will remotely consult patients infected with COVID-19 without endangering others./opopescu
