Conservatives and Liberal Reformists merge into Alliance of Liberals and Democrats

The Conservative Party and the Liberal Reformist Party in Romania have merged today into an Alliance of Liberals and Democrats, aiming to become the country’s third centre-political force addressing those who work in the public sector or with liberal professions as well as entrepreneurs in all sectors of the economy.
The logo of the new alliance is a flying blue bird surrounded 12 yellow stars and its leadership is going to be shared until internal elections in 2017 by  Co-Presidents Călin Popescu Tariceanu and Daniel Constantin.

Romania is taking all necessary measures alongside NATO countries to re-secure the Eastern flank of the Alliance, according to a statement made today in Sibiu by Defense Minister Mircea Dusa. The official explained that NATO increased as a consequence the number of common military exercises with Romania. The minister thus answered a question of the press on possible worries of our country regarding Russia. Mircea Duşa attended the oath-taking ceremony of a new series of professional servicemen at “General Eremia Grigorescu” Application School for Combat Support Units in Sibiu.

Bucharest International Air Show & General Aviation Exhibition

Baneasa International Airport is hosting the 4th edition of Bucharest International Air Show & General Aviation Exhibition. Dozens of civil aircrafts, ultra-light and business jets are going to be presented to the public starting today. Tomorrow, BIAS-2015, the biggest air show in Romania will reunite guests from abroad like Turkish Stars, a supersonic aerobatic team, Royal Air Force Typhoon from the UK and Baltic Bees from Latvia. Renowned representatives of air acrobatics in Romania are also going to perform.

International Forum for Health Tourism held in Bucharest

An International Forum for Health Tourism aiming to help promoting this type of tourism in Romania is starting off today in Bucharest. The main themes on this year’s agenda concern standards, quality and certifications in medical tourism, the patient’s safety but also marketing of medical services. The forum will last for three days. According to statistics, 200.000 foreign tourists visit Romania for health purposes.

End of season for the Romanian National Radio Orchestra

The Romanian National Radio Orchestra is marking the end of season tonight with a concert starting at 7 PM. Conductor Vladimir Lungu of Mersin State Opera in Turkey and top billing composers Mozart, Haydn and Tchaikovsky are the highlights of the last concert of the current season.
