Romania supports the development of dialogue and cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and NATO, assures Bogdan Aurescu

Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu assured today the Moldovan defense minister, Anatolie Salaru, that Romania supports the development of dialogue and cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and NATO, including the opening of a NATO liaison office in Chisinau. Bogdan Aurescu noted and the significant financial support granted by Romania, as a nation-leading, to NATO Voluntary Fund for the destruction of pesticides in the Republic of Moldova. Minister Anatolie Salaru presented the priorities of his mandate and the main directions of action related to defense reform in Moldova and thanked for the constant and consistent support offered by Romania at all levels. The two officials analyzed the prospects of Transnistrian issue and regional security developments, especially their implications on the Republic of Moldova. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

SRI spokesman, about the situation of Romanian woman suspected of ties to the terrorist group Islamic State

The Romanian woman suspected of ties to the terrorist group Islamic State was expelled from Italy and arrived in Romania. The authorities will take action against her, explained the spokesman of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), Sorin Sava
„The woman came to SRI the attention at the beginning of 2014, as a result of activities of Islamic propaganda with extremist content conducted in the virtual environment”, said Sorin Sava. Defense Minister Mircea Dusa made a surprise visit to Base 99 Deveselu, in Olt county, to be informed about the progress of work.
He was informed about the constructions at the facility to be used for ballistic missile defense system AEGIS, before the base to become operational. Minister Mircea Dusa arrived on board of an IAR 330 Puma Socat, accompanied by the head of the Joint Logistic Command, Lieutenant General Cătălin Zisu. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
