Countries in the eastern flank of NATO signed yesterday in Bucharest a joint statement, in perspective of Warsaw summit, next year. At the meeting held at the Cotroceni Palace, the leaders of the states in the eastern flank wanted to agree and speak with one voice, on the background of the global and especially regional threats created by Russia. The Polish President Andrzej Duda, who presided together with Klaus Iohannis the summit, insisted precisely on the idea of unity and safety: „Of course, besides the political and military dimensions, it is very important for our society to convey a sense of security so necessary for the economic development and good cooperation between us in the future. I am optimistic in the perspective of Warsaw summit. The document we have adopted is opened and other NATO countries can join and I know that we can achieve unity in carrying out Alliance’s common objectives”. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Romanian citizens who transit, are or travel in Greece that the Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation announced an extension with another 48-hour of the strike that began two days ago. All categories of maritime carriers will be will affected and during the strike the ships will remain anchored in ports, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Romanian government approved, in the last meeting headed by Victor Ponta, an increase by 15 percent for employees in education, starting next month. According to the Emergency Government Ordinance, 350.000 people will benefit from rising wages, auxiliary and non-teaching staff. They also benefited in 2015 from two wage increases of 5 percent, in March and September. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
