ANRE asks the Goverment to freeze natural gas prices for household consumers

The National Regulatory Authority for Energy – ANRE has requested the Cabinet not to apply the 10% increase in natural gas prices for household consumers, as it had been agreed with the European Commision and the IMF. Price on the international market reached 63 Ron (14 Euros) megawatt hour and it is listed even lower on the national stock exchange, according to ANRE president Niculae Havrileţ, who said the increase would force a 66 Ron (14.7 Euros) megawatt hour price on the population. The Regulatory Authority for Energy is therefore proposing certain measures:

Niculae Havrileţ: Using the free market philosophy for household consumers, prorogation of the agreed calendar for one year or at least 3 months until October 1st or an adjustment of the calendar. Let’s say freeze the 60 Ron price for one additional year in order to still be in tune with the regulated market zone. The most recent price qualifies for the range of the market zone.
