Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos will meet with the American Vice President Joseph Biden

Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos will meet today in Washington with the American Vice President Joe Biden. For two days, Washington will be the place where Dacian Ciolos will meet with several senior American officials, including the secretaries of Agriculture, Trade and Energy. During today’s meetings, Romanian Premier intends to present Romania’s economic development potential and to encourage US companies to invest in our country. Around 20:00, Bucharest time, Dacian Ciolos will meet with the American Vice President Joseph Biden. At the end of the meeting the Prime Minister will make press statements then he will participate in a roundtable organized by the Atlantic Council along with former senior officials in the American administration, business leaders  and editors of leading American publications. The second day of the official visit Romanian Prime Minister undertakes in the United States will end with a meeting with members of the Romanian community in Washington area. Suggestions made by Romanian Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu at the meeting in Brussels

European foreign ministers have reached an agreement to extend the Sophia naval mission off the coasts of Libya to combating human trafficking towards Europe. Security strategy for Syria and Iraq and against the terrorist organization Islamic State were also discussed. Romania, represented by Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu, reaffirmed the importance of the challenges facing the Black Sea region and the role of this area in shaping new regional infrastructure security. EU foreign ministers deem that the security strategy for Syria and Iraq refers to reaching a peaceful transition in Damascus simultaneous with the fight against the terrorist organization Islamic State. Romania, represented by Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu, stressed the need to find new ways to prevent the financing of terrorist groups and also the role of security in Black Sea region. Bucharest City Hall will build two underground parking lots

Bucharest City Hall will build two underground parking lots with about 250 parking places each. One be located in the Dorobanti Square whereas the other one will be in Walter Maracineanu Market. According to Police statistics, 950,000 cars were registered last year in Bucharest and town halls administrate less than 300,000 parking spaces. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Romanians can donate blood in one of the most extensive campaigns conducted throughout the country

Romanians can donate blood this week in one of the most extensive campaigns conducted throughout the country – „Donate Blood! Save a life!” The action organized by the Romanian Patriarchate, in partnership with the Romanian Gendarmerie and the Blood Transfusion Center of Bucharest, now at its 11th edition, starts today and lasts until Friday, inclusive. The first to donate blood in an attempt to draw attention to the need for plasma will be the gendarmes, said Bucharest Gendarmerie spokesman Georgian Enache. „Gendarmes job is to protect and save lives and this is a way that we have chosen, to help our fellow men and to save the lives of those who need”, said Georgian Enache.
