Romania has the cultural and historical vocation to be a bridge between Russia and the West, says Dominique de Villepin

Romania has the cultural and historical vocation to be a bridge between Russia and the West, says former French Prime Minister,  Dominique de Villepin. The French politician believes that currently Europe has a negligible role in global foreign policy and that it should redress the dialogue with Russia, despite historical fears of Baltic and eastern states.
Dominique de Villepin: „My belief is that Europe must remain close to Russia. Together with the Russians we can reflect on a new stage of building of European security, to work with them on security issues, to define together a timetable for lifting sanctions together with goodwill gestures from the Russians, but also from the Europeans. Let us use European assets, for example countries like Romania, which for historical, cultural and geographical reasons has the ability to understand both East and West and it is well placed to address the European concerns sometimes irrational or based on history”.  (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

The labor force in Romania fell by half in the last 25 years

The labor force in Romania fell by half in the last 25 years Currently, according to latest figures from the National Institute of Statistics, the active population is about 9 million people. The causes are – demographic decline, the lack of a culture regarding mobility from one country’s area to another and also the education system, which does not educate young people with the skills that employers are looking for. At the same time, it calls attention that the decline that we will see at the workforce level will be felt very strongly in the coming years, because the education system is not a performant one.
