Romanian Armed Forces Day will be celebrated tonight at the Romanian Embassy in Rome. On this occasion, Ambassador George Bologan sent a message to soldiers on duty in the country and in the theaters of operations. George Bologan: „A special thought on the occasion of Romanian Armed Forces Day, this good thought and appreciation from our fellow citizens in Italy, from the embassy in Rome”. In Romania, the military ceremonies organized today will start with wreath layings at the monuments of heroes, they will include demonstration exercises, exhibitions, symposiums and performances and in the evening withdrawals with torches will take place in several garrisons . Romania is campaigning for an EU with a single speed and for deepening the integration process for all member states. This goal will also be promoted during the period in which our country will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union – in the first half of 2019, said Finance Minister Anca Dragu. She pointed out that at the institutional level there have already been identified files which could be part of the agenda of the Council. Romania needs to increase substantially its defense capability, even if it is currently under the strongest security guarantees in its history – said defense minister Mihnea Motoc. Present yesterday in the town of Satu Mare at an event dedicated to the Romanian Armed Forces Day, which is celebrated today, he pointed out that there were already plans in this regard, besides what it was achieved during 2016. Mihnea Motoc: „This year we achieved an important budget bag, which I conducted at a rate of nearly one-third to purchase critical equipment, to make a difference for all categories of forces, maintaining a significant level of budgetary commitment to support a program even more intensified of training and exercises,  largely multinational in ally format”.
