Cooperation and Verification Mechanism for Romania will not be lifted this year

Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) for Romania will not be lifted this year, said yesterday în Bucharest Deputy Secretary-General at the European Commission Paraskevi Michou. After a meeting with representatives of Parliament she pointed out that lifting the CVM will depend on what the government and the legislative will do and that the reforms made must be sustainable and irreversible. In turn, Justice Minister Florin Iordache considers that, at this moment, Romania has sufficient guarantees that all authorities targeting the judiciary sector work in very good conditions. EU Justice Scoreboard for last year will be presented at the end of this month. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Romanian Foreign Ministry recommends avoiding traveling to Serbia and Bulgaria

Romanian Foreign Ministry recommends avoiding traveling to Serbia and Bulgaria, where warnings of bad weather were issued. Also in  Hungary Code Yellow and Orange warnings of snow and freezing rain are in force today. In northern France, a storm left 200,000 people without electricity
and rail traffic on many routes was closed. Thousands of residents on the south coast of England will be evacuated today because of  flash floods danger while in Scotland and Ireland massive snowfalls were reported yesterday. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Eight people were rescued by the General Inspectorate of Aviation in the Ministry of Interior

Eight people, including two children, who needed medical attention were transported to hospital by air, by pilots in General Inspectorate of Aviation in the Ministry of Interior. Seven helicopters and a plane took off from Aero-medical Operation Points in Galati, Craiova, Arad, Constanta counties, Targu-Mures and Bucharest to assist them. Ministry of Interior points out that the 13 aircraft are still prepared to conduct aero-medical missions. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Adrian Strugariu
