Former Romanian President Ion Iliescu charged with crimes against humanity in „Mineriada” file

The former President of Romania, Ion Iliescu, appeared as a defendant at the General Prosecutor’s Office, as part of the „Mineriada” file, where he is accused of crimes against humanity. The former leader of miners from the Jiu Valley, Miron Cozma, has also been heard, last week, as part of the same file. Forces from the Interior Ministry, the Defense Ministry and SRI, as well as more than 10,000 miners and workers from around the country have taken part in this attack, prosecutors argue.
