Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu will participate at the informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Valletta

Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu will participate on Friday at the informal meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Valletta. According to a press release, officials present in Valletta will discuss about recent developments in Turkey, about globalization and about the challenges to the international law order. There will also be an assessment with the foreign ministers from candidate countries on the stage of implementation of the Union’s Global Strategy. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Former senator Georgica Severin was appointed as Interim Managing Director of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation

Former Senator Georgica Severin is appointed starting today the interim Managing Director of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, after the decision of Romanian Parliament’s plenum was published last night in the Official Monitor. On Wednesday, the parliament rejected Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation’s activity raports for 2015 and 2016. Following this decision, the Administration Council and the Managing Director of the institution were dismissed. Georgica Severin is a graduate of Faculty of History Philosophy – University of Bucharest and in the previous legislature he was chairman of the Committee on Culture, Arts and Mass Media. In 2010 he became a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

European Commission Vice-President Andrus Ansip arrives in Romania

European Commission Vice-President Andrus Ansip, responsible for the Digital Single Market, arrives today in Romania, where he will have several meetings with government officials, but also with citizens. In the dialogue with civil society, the European official will talk about the future of the European Union and about the possibility of reducing the gaps between member states through the Digital Single Market. He will also attend a round table with representatives of some IT companies. Andrus Ansip has scheduled talks with Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu, with Minister of Communications, Economy and with Minister-delegate for European Funds. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
