Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu ended his official visit to Israel

Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu ended his official visit to Israel last night, when he had a meeting with Avigdor Lieberman, the Israeli Minister of Defence. Previously, he and his counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu signed a joint statement on reducing roaming costs between the two countries and they identified new areas for the development of bilateral relations. Sorin Grindeanu also had talks with the President of the State of Israel, Reuven Rivlin  and met with the representatives of the Romanian-born Israelis in Jerusalem  Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Wailing Wall and „Yad Vashem” Holocaust Martyrs and Heroes Memorial Museum. Donation of the American Ambassador to Bucharest for three fortified churches in Transylvania

The American Ambassador to Bucharest Hans Klemm donated 60,000 dollars to support rehabilitation projects for three fortified churches in Transylvania. He visited 13th century Saint Michael’s church in Movile village and offered the money to the evangelical bishop, Reinhard Guib.
The funding, part of a special American state program, will be used for emergency interventions to which Hans Klemm is honored to be able to contribute. „We respect Romania, said Ambassador Hans Klemm, „its culture and its traditions and through this respect we can develop the understanding between us. As a United States ambassador I am very fortunate to have the financial support of my country and government to invest in efforts to protect the cultural heritage in Romania”. Partnership with Germany is a strategic option of Romania which is also found in the governance program, said State Secretary in Foreign Ministry George Ciamba. The statement was made in „Romania and Germany – New Opportunities for Europe” debate, which marked the 25th anniversary of the Treaty on Friendly Cooperation and Partnership in Europe between Romania and Germany. Present at the event German Minister for European Affairs Michael Roth said that German investors have created over 300,000 jobs in Romania so far. He added that the German government awaits further reforms in Romania after the street protests which took place this winter. „The German federal government”, said Minister Michael Roth, „relies on the Romanian goverment to take in all seriousness the warning signals and that it will work with Parliament in all subsequent stages regarding the reform of criminal law and the situation in penitentiaries. This also shows to the partners in the European Union that Romania is still, as in the past years, willing to maintain a consistent and credible path to reforms”. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
