Teodor Melescanu attended yesterday in Istanbul the special meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Council of Foreign Ministers

Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu attended yesterday in Istanbul the special meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Council of Foreign Ministers, which celebrates today 25 years of existence. Mister Melescanu appreciated that a more substantial interaction of this organization with the European Union will boost economic cooperation and regional projects in the Black Sea basin. Romanian Minister believes that the organization must become more efficient and continue the reform in order to develop its economic mission. Also yesterday, Teodor Melescanu had a series of bilateral meetings with counterparts from Moldova and Serbia, as well as with heads of delegations from Greece, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and with the Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation, Michael Christides. Romania’s Minister-delegate for European Affairs Ana Birchall will attend the meeting of the General Affairs Council

Romania’s Minister-delegate for European Affairs Ana Birchall will attend on Monday the meeting of the General Affairs Council in Brussels, where a further step is to be taken to open negotiations with the United Kingdom on leaving the European Union. This is after the European leaders endorsed at the last Council the plan to start negotiations for an agreement laying down the conditions for the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. In these negotiations, protecting the rights and interests of Romanians in the United Kingdom is a priority for the authorities in Bucharest. In Brussels, Ana Birchall will also meet with his Estonian counterpart Matti Maasikas in order to have talks in regards to the priorities of Estonia holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Romanians are increasingly aware of the effects of solar radiation on the skin

Romanians are increasingly aware of the effects of solar radiation on the skin, show the results of the latest free tests. Data revela that half of the population uses creams only occasionally, while only 15 percent use constant creams. The percentage of the latter is however rising, according to experts. On the other hand, there is a large number of those who do not use any sunscreen creams at all, said Alin Nicolescu, Secretary General of the Romanian Society of Dermatology. In the meantime, the free public consultation campaign reached its 12th edition and it continues also this year. Dermatologists will offer free consultations to the population at the Black Sea coast, pupils in the high schools in Bucharest and Targu Mures, Oradea and Craiova, as well as to employees from several factories and multinational companies.
