The members of the Tudose Cabinet are meeting today in the last session this year. A number of tax measures may be on the agenda, one of which is to support the IT sector, so that net salaries for employees in the sector are not diminished in the context of the new tax laws, starting January 1, 2018. The support would be granted in the form of a de minimis aid scheme for a period of three years. It is estimated that this de minimis aid could benefit more than 8,700 enterprises. Another measure discussed today is to postpone for 6 months the payment of the fiscal obligations into a single account at the Treasury. According to the project, by 1 July next year, the payment of these obligations will be made in the two valid, already known single accounts. Currently, one of the two accounts of the Treasury is paid corporation tax or income tax, and VAT, and the other contributions are paid to Pension, Health and Unemployment.

The Ministry of Justice to publish all the Penal Codes in the European Union

The Romanian Ministry of Justice has announced that it will publish all the criminal codes existing in the European Union. Justice Minister Tudorel Toader wrote on a social network that the “Codex penal”, which covers five volumes of one thousand pages each, is in an advanced stage of development. Each Code will be prefaced by the main similarities and differences in relation to the Criminal Code in Romania. „The work will be distributed free of charge and can be used in law-making and in studying the comparative criminal law,” added Tudorel Toader.
