Romania promotes the Centenary theme at Berlin International Tourism Fair

Romania upholds the Centenary theme and puts forward the cultural tourism, at the Berlin Fair, which has opened on Wednesday and lasts until Sunday. The Romanian stall includes 40 exhibitors, tourism agencies, air travel companies and local authorities that will fill in Romania’s touring offer, from cultural journeys to hiking, adventure tourism, and seaside and Danube Delta vacations. Visitors will be attracted to the Romanian stall by remarkable artistic moments carried out by folkloric groups, popular artisans and the Romania’s representatives to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, the band Humans. During the fair, the Tourism Minister Bogdan Trif will meet representatives of the German market, to talk about subjects such as Romania’s tourism potential and opportunities that it brings.

The National Statistics Institute has confirmed the 7% economic growth for 2017

Romania’s National Statistics Institute has reconfirmed the country’s 7% economic growth in 2017, according to provisional data published on Wednesday. Industry had the highest contribution to the economic growth, followed by trade and farming. The economic advance was mainly due to the household consumption spending, that increased by 10%. Meanwhile, the net export has had a negative impact in the economic growth, as the value of imports was higher than the amount resulted from export.

The number of Romanians who died from the flu has reached 84 people

Since the start of the current cold season, 84 Romanians have died because of the flu. The National Center for Supervision and Control of Transmissible Disease announced another four deaths, on Tuesday. The victims were three men and a woman, aged between 59 and 93 years, from the counties of Bihor, Arges and Mures. They all suffered from other diseases too and weren’t vaccinated against the flu. The Health Minister Sorina Pintea has said that, according to experts, it is not the case to declare a state of flu epidemic.
