Anca Jurma took over the office of National Anti-Corruption Directorate chief prosecutor

Anca Jurma took over the office of National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) chief prosecutor, after more than five years in which the institution was led by Laura Codruta Kovesi. She can lead the National Anti-Corruption Directorate for no more than six months, during which the Minister of Justice will nominate a new titular, which he will propose to the President of Romania. In a short statement, Anca Jurma said that she would strive to ensure a balanced interim leadership in which the DNA will continue the work it started 15 years ago: ” DNA has a major responsibility in carrying out the mandate entrusted to it by the law, namely the fight against high-level corruption. In this regard, DNA will have to remain a strong, independent and relevant institution, as long as Romania still faces corruption”. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
