A Romanian citizen was tested positive for coronavirus on board the cruise ship Diamond Princess in Japan

A Romanian citizen was tested positive for the new coronavirus infection, on board the Diamond Princess cruise chip, which is quarantined in Japan’s territorial waters. The Romanian Embassy in Tokyo has been notified on that development by Japan’s Foreign Ministry. The patient was transfered to be isolated and receive treatment to a specialized Japanese hospital. 17 Romanian citizens (two passengers and 15 crew members) were onboard the quarantined ship Diamond Princess.

Romania has delivered the first patrol boat which was integrally made on its soil

The first corvette built integrally by Romanian workers in the country has been delivered to the Millitary Marine in Pakistan, in the Port of Constanta. It’s a patrol boat, which was built at the Damen Shipyard in Galati by a Romanian team. Its completion took one year and eight months. Damen representative, Ed Veen, has said that this is a performance which willl bring new orders in the future. „I can tell you that the body of one of the most impressive ships of the Dutch Millitary Marine has been built in Galati. Now we have made progress and we can build entirely such defense ships”, Mr. Veen has said.

The Romanian Defense Minister has met his counterparts from Poland, Bulgaria and Greece

The Romanian Defence Minister, Nicolae Ciuca, has talked to his counterparts in Poland, Bulgaria and Georgia about the ally framework cooperation, the air police missions and security challenges in the Black Sea region. The bilateral meetings were held on the sidelines of NATO’s ministerial summit. In an interview to Radio Romania, Nicolae Ciuca gave details about the main subjects on the summit agenda. „There were activities related to the continuity and expansion of NATO mission in Iraq. Also, the situation in Afghanistan has been considered, as well as the security situation in the Middle East and Northern Africa”, Minister Ciuca has said.
