Another death from infection with the new coronavirus was announced a short time ago, which brings the balance to 44. According to authorities, a 74-year-old man has died at Satu Mare Infectious Diseases Hospital. He also suffered from high blood pressure and was a type 2 insulin dependent diabetic.

Seven members the the Romanian Embassy in France were tested positive with COVID-19, therefore protective measures were arranged for the rest of the diplomatic mission group and their families. The condition of the seven people is good. The Foreign Ministry notes that, in this context, the activity of the Romanian Embassy in France will be restricted. At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifies that the activity of the consular unit is temporarily suspended and only urgent cases will be taken over.

The freight carriers’ tariffs did not increase during this period and they are not responsible for the possible price increases of food – states the National Union of Road Transporters in Romania. According to a statement, all the transport companies operating on contracts have maintained the previous agreements. Only some trips between Romania and Italy have registered fare increases due to the uncertainty of the drivers’ situation when returning to the country, but any costs generated at the borders are modest – the organization says.
