Romania’s state of alert extended

A Romanian government meeting on Tuesday is expected to decide an extension by another 30 days of the current state of alert across the country. The existing state of alert expires today (January 12) and it could be extended for another 30 days starting tomorrow, January 13. Current restrictions will not change as additional measures were adopted given the bad winter weather conditions in most of the country. Snow-covered, slippery roadways were reported throughout Romania, including along some of the major routes in central and northern Romania. Heavy snow in Romania’s capital Bucharest left some capital districts without heating and hot water.
