Over 6 million tourists visited Romania last year

Romania registered 6.3 million tourists last year, down by more than 50% compared to 2019 – according to the National Institute of Statistics. Of these, more than 90% were Romanians and only 7% foreigners. The highest values ​​of the number of arrivals in accommodation units were reported in Constanța and Brașov counties and in Bucharest. The ranking is completed by Prahova, Bihor, Sibiu, Cluj and Suceava. Last year, most foreign tourists came from Germany, Italy, France, Israel and the United Kingdom./opopescu

Another patient at the „Matei Balş” Institute died after last Friday”s fire

Another patient who was admitted in Pavilion 5 of the „Matei Balş” Institute in Bucharest, during the fire last Friday, died. It is about an 84-year-old woman transferred to Elias Hospital, who had been diagnosed with a severe form of COVID and who also suffered from other diseases. New cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Romania

Another 2,676 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were reported yesterday, after more than 30,000 Real Time PCR and rapid tests in 24 hours. Most new cases were in the capital, 252, but another 5 counties also reported more than 100 new cases. Among them it is also Timiş County, the only one that is still in the red zone. Authorities said another 111 people infected with the new coronavirus had died and 967 were in critical condition at the ICU.
