Restaurants, cafes and bars closed again in Bucharest

Restaurants, cafes and bars in Bucharest have been closed again, at midnight on Monday. The municipal committee for emergency situations has decided these measures on Monday, after the infection rate in the capital has risen above three cases to 1.000 inhabitants.
Mariana Stancu Ţipişcă, spokeswoman for the Bucharest Prefecture: This kind of activity is forbidden inside, it is only permitted at the exterior, when at the exterior there is a terrasse with a roof, a ceiling with a single wall, maintaining a distance of two meters between tables and, obviously, with not more than six people at a table, if they come from different families. The activity of economic operators licensed int gambling is forbidden, with the single exception of selling lottery tickets.
Also, only kindergartens and primary schools will be open for class with the physical presence of students in Bucharest, while students in terminal years will learn in a mixed system, half of them in the classrooms and half online. Measures have been introduced for a period of 14 days. On Monday, cinemas, theater and concert halls will also be closed and cultural events will be forbidden outside.

The organizer of Bucharest protests outside the Palace of the Parliament has been fined with 7,000 lei

The organizer of the public protest gathering that took place yesterday in Bucharest, outside the Palace of the Parliament has been fined with 7,000 lei for exceeding the maximum number of 100 participants and not insuring the maintaining of sanitary protection measures, according to a press declaration from the Police. The demonstration has been organized by the Parents’ Alliance, together with other four associations. Hundreds of protesters have demonstrated Sunday evening in Izvor Park against the bill referring to the vaccination, that, protesters argue, includes stipulations about its compulsoriness. The bill is still debated in Parliament and PSD deputy Alexandru Rafila declared in a televised intervention that it does not imply the compulsoriness for adults to be vaccinated while, for children, it only refers to informing the parents.

Romania on the tenth place regarding use of green energy

Romania has sufficient renewable energy resources – 65% of the citizens think, according to a sociological study conducted in the project “Persistent Romania”. The analysis shows the way in which public opinion relates to green energy sources and the way it estimates access to energetical services.
Most of the consumers say that electric energy supply is satisfying and 89% of them declare themselves very or sufficiently satisfied. Romanians are still interested in consuming less electrical energy, especially in connection with less spending. Therefore, 83% use economical light bulbs but also economical household appliance. The results of the study have also shown that people are open to the idea of clean or renewable energy, the population showing a willingness to switch to those sources. Moreover, 65% of the citizens consider that our country has sufficient renewable energy resources and 33% would prefer to use solar energy. The study also shows that 63% of households are thermally insulated. According to the Department for persistent development inside the government, that conducted the survey, Romania is on the tenth place in Europe concerning the use of green energy and has reached the objective set by the European Union for 2020 for renewable energy early.
