More than 1,000 volunteers are taking part in the second edition of the „Vaccination Marathon” in Bucharest

More than 1,000 volunteers – doctors, students, nurses and administrative personnel – are taking part in the second edition of the so-called „Vaccination Marathon” in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, which has already begun al 16:00 on Friday and is unfolding at the Palace Hall and Romania’s National Library. The event will last until Monday at 8:00 am. People who had their first dose at the first edition of the marathon, three weeks ago are expected to come for their second dose, but also those who are willing to be vaccinated for their first anti-COVID shot. They will then be able to receive a second dose at any of the vaccination centers where they will find available slots. Vaccines used are Pfizer/BioNTech and also the vaccine developed by Johnson&Johnson, which is administered in a single shot.

A new edition of the European Castles Fair will be held on Friday and Saturday at Corvins’ Castle in Hunedoara

The sixth edition of the European Castles Fair is being held this Friday and Saturday at Romania’s Corvins’ Castle in Hunedoara. The event brings together 20 exhibitionists, fortress, palaces, castles and museums in Romania, including The Alba Carolina Citadel, the Bran Castle, the Râșnov Fortress, Brukenthal Palace and Corvins’ Castle. The stands will be placed in the Husari Yard and could be visited between 9 am and 5 pm. The fair’s program includes demonstrations of medieval battles, archery and swird lessons. An exhibition of falcon parade and dressage will also be open.

The United States Embassy in Bucharest has marked the Memorial Day

The US embassy in Bucharest has marked the Memorial Day on Friday, an event in honour of American soldiers who gave their lives for their country. Romania is one of the strogest allies and friends of the United States, the Chargé d’Affaires David Muniz has said. He also spoke about the battle to defend the common Euro_Atlantic values, so as future generations could live in peace and freedom.

David Muniz: We are ready to fight against those who would wish to take these values away from us. We are honoring the sacrifices of all those who fought and perished for a goal higher than themselves – Romanians and Americans alike – soldiers who have fought and died in order to defend the common values. We honor those who continue to serve for the highest call and ideals of their nations.
