Less than 56,000 doses of COVID vaccine were administered on Wednesday

The national anti-COVID vaccination campaign has slowed down, with less than 56,000 doses being administered yesterday. The coordinator of the campaign, Valeriu Gheorghiță, once again appealed to the local authorities to get involved in the immunization process. In cities where the vaccination rate is above the national average there is a direct involvement of local authorities and especially of the mayor. The immunization for the 12-15 age group started yesterday. Doctor Valeriu Gheorghiță recommends online scheduling to avoid possible waiting periods./opopescu

The public”s interest to be vaccinated is still low in rural areas, especially in the Apuseni Mountains

Even if DSP Alba makes efforts to organize caravans and vaccination marathons and the vaccination rate is good at the county level, the interest of the population to the vaccine is still low in rural areas, especially in the Apuseni Mountains. In the latest vaccination caravan organized in Apuseni, only 47 people were vaccinated in three days. A vehicle equipped with everything necessary and with teams of specialists went to the Apuseni Mountains at the end of last week to vaccinate the population from the more difficult to reach areas. The first vaccination caravan arrived in 14 localities, but the population’s interest in the vaccine was low. However, a higher presence was registered in Fărău, where 42 people were immunized, and in Jidvei, in only one day, 150. The vaccination campaign continues. Today, the mobile teams of the Alba Public Health Directorate will reach Șpring, Gârbova, Bergin and Beldiu. The representatives of DSP Alba also say that they will move every day a vaccination point in the crowded areas of Alba Iulia./opopescu
